As an elementary school teacher and an avid sports fisherman, I teach kids about pacific salmon every year. This semester, I will be teaching a grade 4 class at a school minutes away from the Fraser River in the Fraser Valley. Researching for the instruction, I happened upon your video (Salmon Confidential). In short, I was grabbed at a gut level about a precious resource that I have always loved. I was blessed to have a father who took me fishing, and I have personally boycotted farmed salmon for many years. I would love to help in any way I can, and would very much like to get in touch with you to see if we can brainstorm how to get the next generation to fall in love with and care for this precious resource. Incidentally, I have planned an 'activism letter' language arts focus during the same time I will be teaching these kids about the salmon. I'd love to get some local and/or provincial press to pay attention to your issue (our issue!), and I'm confident I can get some kids on board to help. Interested?

I was studying whales living in a remote coastal community when salmon farms moved in and gradual changed everything. I began studying the impact of salmon farms on the environment, but when a Norwegian pediatrician risked her career to inform women about the impact on human health I realized just how dangerous salmon farming can be.
